The objective of this activity is to improve the Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi's (ESCOM) performance by establishing an Asset Management system and a robust project screening framework. The first component involves a comprehensive review of existing asset management practices; identification of technological opportunities for enhancement; development of a roadmap for capability improvement and pioneer a pilot project. The second component focuses on developing a thorough screening criteria and decision-making process for Power Purchase Agreements; with an emphasis on building negotiation capacities within the utility.
