The objective of this assignment will be to produce a consolidated assessment of the historical costs of sustained natural gas flaring in Iraq; and their economic; social and environmental impacts to inform sector policy and the Government of Iraq’s approach to address the practice; and to support future action to reduce gas flaring and meet its 2017 endorsement of the World Bank’s Zero Routine Flaring by 2030 initiative.
