The World Bank seeks to hire consultancy services of an experienced institution/ firm to conduct a sampled diagnostic assessment of the childcare sector in Kenya. The study aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the approach and or models of childcare services; regulatory frameworks governing childcare services at the National and County levels; the current state of a sampled childcare facilities and related standards; the nature of costs associated with childcare services; quality of the services provided; and the impact and or results of existing childcare services on overall children’s growth and development. The study will also aim to assess cultural aspects of childcare services; experiences of parents; caregivers and service providers and to establish linkages between women economic empowerment and childcare services. The findings will inform policy dialogue and practical strategies to expand access to affordable; unmet needs; quality; and safe childcare services in Kenya.
