The World Bank Group (WBG) is preparing the Sustainable Solid Waste Management Project (SWEEP; P500526) as a new investment lending activity to improve solid waste management in participating cantons and municipalities from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). The new project will support BiH in adopting an integrated approach towards SWM through i) the institutional strengthening and capacity building at both entity and municipal/cantonal levels to improve the enabling conditions for SWM; and ii) financing the improvement of waste collection; treatment; and disposal infrastructure and equipment of participating regions; cantons; and municipalities through sub-loans and grants.Under this context; WBG will conduct a survey to understand potential behavioral barriers to sustainable household waste management. The WBG is looking for a firm to survey households to assess BiH's waste management dynamics. The outcomes of this study will be integral to a broader set of actions to combat pollution and environmental degradation in BiH and; concretely; municipal waste management. As such; this study is part of SWEEP’s preparation activities and aims to inform communications design to improve sustainable waste management behaviors. The selected firm will be responsible for preparing; administering; and analyzing the results of a representative survey of distinct households in 10 municipalities of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) and the Republika Srpska (RS).
