This assignment is to assist two utilities in Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) to manage the increasing integration of renewable energy sources into their respective power grids in the main islands. This involves studying (i) the impact of adding solar; wind and hydro power installations to the existing grids of Pohnpei Utility Corporation (PUC) and Chuuk Public Utility Corporation (CPUC); (ii) recommendations for necessary upgrades and enhancements to support increased renewable energy integration; and (iii) cost estimations associated with necessary upgrades and enhancements. The assignment includes designing and conducting training sessions on renewable integration; battery storage systems; and grid reinforcement for the utility staff.
