The World Bank is looking for a consultancy to provide analytical and advisory support for sustainable management of forests in municipalities in Georgia. The objective of this assignment is to assist the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture (MEPA) with identification of forested areas outside State Forest boundaries; assessing them according to set parameters; preparing documentation for municipal forest status application; and offering recommendations and training for establishing a municipal-level forest management model with community involvement.The work will involve the following tasks:1.      Identification of prospective areas for the inclusion to the State Forest in the capacity of municipal forests2.      Forest Taxation3.     Preparation of the application for granting status of a municipal forest to the identified areas4.      Institutional arrangements and training The consultant’s team should possess extensive experience in Georgia's forest sector and a profound understanding of Georgia’s legal framework; solid technical proficiency in taxation and GIS; and a proven record in training and administration.
