Description: The objective of this assignment is to provide consulting services to IFC; aimed at provision of hazard screening data for select project locations; on-demand; leveraging globally relevant datasets. The hazard screening should focus on physical impacts of natural and climate hazards. These hazard data will be used as inputs to the project assessment of the IFC Building Resilience Index https://www.resilienceindex.org/ and for hazard applicability and intensity levels. They will be used by IFC to elaborate recommendations on physical and operational measures to manage risks specific to the project locations. The hazard screening data should include the following parameters: (a) temperature (heat stress; temperature variability; heat waves; cold waves); (b) wind (wind pattern; downburst; tornado; cyclone; hurricane; typhoon); (c) water (coastal flood; fluvial flood; pluvial flood; flash flood; extreme precipitations; storm surge; tsunami); (c) fire (wildfire); and (d) geoseismic (subsidence; earthquake; volcano; landslide). The hazard screening data can also include additional; optional parameters that the vendor may propose; such as lightning; hail; draught and others. Risk screenings should be based on historic datasets (baseline) as well as future climate projections (as an example; SSP1_2.6; SSP2_4.5; SSP3_7.0; SSP5_8.5); including return periods and years of reference; as applicable to each hazard; using scientifically accepted climate modeling; at the highest available resolution for each dataset. Hazard data must be based; to any possible extent; on quantitative measurements; using the International System of Units (Celsius degrees for temperature; kilometers per hour for wind; depth in meters for flood; etc.). Provision of qualitative measurements (i.e. low; medium; high) should be reduced to any possible extent and ideally avoided. Hazard screening data should be executed for points or polygons; on land of any country globally. Each hazard screening data request will be initiated from the IFC Building Resilience Index; with the provision of coordinates for points and shape files for polygons; sent automatically to the firm; and should then be returned to the same IFC application; through a dedicated API. The assignment will be for one year with option to extend and will include either number of data requests or a license to use data up to a limit.
