India's rapid urbanization; with nearly 36% of its population residing in urban areas; has outstripped the pace at which urban services; including waste management; are provided. Despite the goals to achieve 100% solid waste management; cities are grappling with a spectrum of issues from inefficient waste collection systems to inadequate treatment of waste; contributing to air and water pollution and aggravating urban flooding. The purpose of this assignment is to undertake assessment of SWM services in selected states/cities in India with a view to developing city level action plans and investments options for enhancing circularity and resilience; lowering emissions and improving service delivery.  Only qualified firms with a commitment to doing timely and high quality work should apply.
