We are pleased to announce the launch of our Archives Holdings website, a new tool for displaying and navigating descriptions of records in the custody of the World Bank Group Archives. This tool is created using open source software, Access to Memory (or AtoM), and it provides a cleaner presentation of our finding aids while offering a variety of new ways to discover our holdings.
Researchers can now use browse and search functionality to locate archival descriptions, which are arranged hierarchically according to the International Standard for Archival Description. Once you have located a description of interest, the new tree-view option at the top of the page allows you to navigate between descriptions while maintaining a clear understanding of your location in the hierarchy.
When records have been described to the series level, you will be able to generate a folder-level list of all the folders belonging to that series. If records in a particular series have been digitized, the titles of the folders will be hyperlinked, enabling you to conduct your research without having to visit the Archives in person.
We look forward to offering further improvements and refinements to the site in the future. In the meantime, if you have any questions or comments on our new look, email us at archives@worldbank.org.
