KAMPALA, May 1, 2013 -- In April 2013, there were press reports that the World Bank had pulled out of budget support in Uganda. We wish to clarify as follows: The World Bank remains engaged in, and is committed to supporting Uganda's development priorities. The Ugandan government has however requested that we direct most of our new support towards specific investments for infrastructure, agriculture and skills development, with less financing for general budget support.
