IFC is seeking to hire an international consulting firm with the expertise in construction sector specifically in Green Buildings Sector to work on delivering a training course to develop Green building materials data base for manufacturers in Egypt. A.     Green Building Materials Data Base: 1.      The consulting firm is required to provide capacity building – training to the technical team of HBRC to develop guidelines for building materials for manufacturers. These Guidelines will include:*        Data required from the manufacturers for the establishment of the Egyptian Green Building Materials Data Base. *        Selection of Priority Materials is based upon the commonly used materials in the Egyptian context (e.g.; cement; steel; concrete; brick; ceramic; aluminum; and glass). *        Environmental indicators to be reported for life cycle assessment are the Embodied Energy based on primary energy and the Global Warming Potential (GWP). *  The training course compromises the following:1)     Life cycle Inventory data collection process and sheets: *        Examples of data sheets per unit process. *        Identification of system boundary for the selected building material industries.*        Description of the required data to be collected for the calculations including Production routes and technologies for each material.*        Description of data collection procedures.*        Validation of data including (i) data quality assessment; and ii) treatment of missing data.*        Criteria for the inclusion of inputs (energy-water and material) and defining measuring units.*        Calculation procedures.*        Output data (waste- emissions-material) defining measuring units. 2)     Processing the data throughout all stages: *        Production (A1-A3)*        Construction (A4- A5)*        Use (B1- B7)*        End of life (C1- C4)*        Benefits and loads beyond system Boundary: Recycle- Reuse – Recovery (D)3)     Providing excel sheets with equations for the calculations and the final output for the developing of green building materials data base.4)     Explaining how the collected data from the manufactures could be used by software for developing environmental product declaration.5)     Demonstrating a case study / solved example to better understand how to make use of the obtained data.6)     Explaining how manufacturers could measure energy and emissions throughout manufacturing process in the local context.
